Holy One, I lift this prayer today not only for myself, but for all of us working at the polls. We ask your holy protection in the sacred tasks we are called to do for democracy. The hours will be long and the tension real. Hold us in your love. Fill us with patience and understanding. Lead us to do our work with gratitude for all who turn out to vote at our polling places. I ask that you keep me patient and most of all hopeful for an outcome leading us all into greater love and understanding and working to overcome divisions in our country. This is my prayer, in Jesus’ name, I lift it. Amen.
