God, empower us to move beyond fearmongering and hate-filled rhetoric. Let our voices be those that build up rather than tear down, that sow seeds of peace rather than discord. Guide our actions so that our politics are informed by our faith—a faith that calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves and to seek justice for the marginalized and oppressed. Amen
