Loving God, creator of us all, hear our prayers in this election season. Help us to move beyond positions, policies and personal emotions to deep listening, considerate compassion, enlightened empathy and unique understanding. Help us to see the God in each other, our beloveds and those whom we may find it difficult to love. Help us to discern the opportunities to build bridges, tear down walls and gather on common ground. Open our hearts that we may feel and be Christ’s disciples in the world, centered in love, witnesses to peace, and agents of justice. Amen.
