I would have loved you, anyhow!

Romans 10:11 (NASB) For the scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”

He was a strong, proud man

            Faithful

Served the church and his community

Fought for la independencia de su patria

            Believed in God

                        Believed in justice

                                    Believed in love

But did not trust the church

            Could not trust his people

With his heart

            His secret

                        His true self

Gay

            Closeted

                        Shamed

                                    Ashamed

He died never fully known by all

But fully known and loved by God

Que descanse en paz, mi hermano

I would have loved you, anyhow

Te amares, ¡siempre!
