Art for Advent 2017
Hope, Peace, Joy, Love: Traditional Advent Affirmations Explored through the Visual Arts
Worship Ways invites you to include graphic arts this Advent,
as a spiritual resource,
as a way to help interpret seasonal Scripture,
and to help offer insight into the world around us.
We need open eyes and hearts to discern the Holy in these complicated times.
The arts may be a door into the Mystery of God With Us.
Two visual artists from Redwoods, CA have offered their work
for settings of United Church of Christ
to use this Advent in worship and education, and for individual private devotion.
The Rev. Erin Beardemphl, a fabric artist, and
Ms. Katia Aoun Hage, a poet and visual artist,
have allowed Worship Ways to license their work for use this Advent.
Their work may be downloaded free of charge from this webpage,
and used according to some simple parameters of citation, linked here.
Erin and Katia have offered some suggestions for using art in congregational settings,
linked here.
