For Black History Month, we will celebrate past environmental justice leaders and their historic contributions to the movement. We will lift up and reflect upon the lives of these champions for justice: Dana Alston, Cecil Corbin-Mark, Hazel Johnson, Patsy Oliver, Gloria Roberts, Damu Smith, Emelda West, and Margaret Williams. To fully appreciate their impact and legacy, we will hear from those in the movement who knew them. Featured speakers will include:
- Robert Bullard, Executive Director, Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice, and Distinguished Professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy, Texas Southern University
- Cheryl Johnson, Executive Director, People for Community Recovery
