Living Psalm 127
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Living Psalm 127_Torigian for November 10, 2024
Our Loving Creator constructs a house of heart
in unseen bricks of love beyond any storm,
and a roof of caring sheltering us in spite of winds.
Oh, dear friends. We think we can control everything ourselves-
Working from dawn until dusk and beyond,
Sacrificing sleep and consuming the bread of anxiety
Just to ensure all is well in our lives.
Yet we forget we are part of a caring community,
Children of God who extend the good news of love
From generation to generation.
We are part of a story
Extending from the first light of time
And through eternity.
All of our siblings, all of God’s children,
Ignite the lamps of possibilities.
Through the passions of their souls,
They use their energy to kindle a new light
In our communities.
Shadows attempt to lengthen,
But through the glow of many,
Daylight extends from dusk until morning.
May our many spirits join together
To create a bounty in front of us,
To care for those besides us,
To remember those behind us,
And to honor the God above and within us.
Amen.
