Economic Justice

God commissions us to establish economies built around deeply-rooted justice, universal equity, and sustaining compassion so that all might thrive. We are to manifest jubilee, abundance, and reparations. Learn more about each jar God calls us to fill.

Governance in the UCC is led by our members. Our priorities are directed by the people in our churches, who draft and vote on resolutions to direct our shared work. Over the decades, economic justice continues to be a top priority, manifested in several resolutions. The foundations of “Fill the JAR” efforts are especially guided by this pivotal 2009 resolution: “An Economic Justice Covenant.”
