David Ackerman (2025, Appointed CCM) serves as the Conference Minister of the Penn West Conference of the United Church of Christ. He grew up in Export, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Grove City College (1990) and Harvard Divinity School (1993). He served as pastor at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Trauger (Latrobe) PA for 21 years before beginning with Penn West in 2014. He is the author of “Beyond the Lectionary: A Year of Alternatives to the Revised Common Lectionary” (Circle, 2013). He enjoys such outdoor activities as running, hiking, biking and fishing. David is married to Marsha (Thomas) Ackerman, a high school math teacher in the Ligonier Valley School District. David and Marsha reside in Greensburg PA.
