Sheila Harvey

Class of 2028

The Rev. Dr. Sheila Harvey (Class of 2028) is Senior Pastor at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has spoken at the World Council of Churches, the United Nations, and at national, state, and local gatherings discussing her book, Messages of Hope: Preaching Peace and Justice for All.

Dr. Sheila serves on the Boards of the Council of Health and Human Services Ministry (CHHSM), the Florida Conference of the UCC, Pathways, and Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, where she is the Alumni Council President. She is also the UCC Just Peace (Justice & Peace) Network Chair. Additionally, Dr. Sheila is
an award-winning chaplain, served the Florida Conference for nearly a decade, and served two decades pastoring in Washington, DC, Connecticut, and Florida.

Dr. Sheila also holds several degrees. A Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, a Master of Divinity from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Doctor of Ministry from Hartford International University for Religion and Peace in Connecticut. She recently earned a leadership certification from Harvard University in Massachusetts.

Last year, Dr. Sheila’s lifelong service earned her the prestigious “Alumni in the Spotlight” designation from her alma mater, Florida State University. FSU also recognized Dr. Sheila in their new alumni publication, In Their Words.

Moreover, Dr. Shela’s is active in the community as an Executive Board Member of the P.E.A.C.E. advocacy organization, a DART affiliate; active Membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and is the UCC Clergy Dean in her area.
