Shernell J. Edney Stilley (Class of 2025, At Large) received her Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications from Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA) and her Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University (Richmond, VA). Beginning in May 2019, Shernell will serve as Associate Conference Minister for Congregational Vitality in the New York Conference. In this position, she will provide staff assistance to the Committees on Ministry for Metropolitan and Suffolk Associations. Her programmatic responsibilities for the entire conference, as they pertain to Congregational Vitality, include Faith Reconciliation, Community Re-Discovery, Social Justice Empowerment, Revitalization Strategies, Oversight of New Church Start programs, and Readiness 360. Other programmatic responsibilities include resource person for local church ONA processes and how to become a WISE Congregation. She was selected by the Pension Boards to participate in the Next Generation Leadership Initiative (NGLI) as a member of the 2018-2028 cohort.
