Holy One, We confess that we have not walked peacefully in the garden; we’ve stepped on creatures great and small, and failed to love neighbor as self. Forgive us, we pray. Renew in us the sacred imagination that was yours at creation and ours with the first breath of your spirit. Let us imagine that peace is possible. Draw us beyond the bounds of simple thoughts and passive prayers, to a place of deep prayer and meaningful action. May we take Jesus at his word when he says to lay our weapons down. May we walk with the one who brings peace and liberating love. Amen.
