UCC national setting to welcome guests in Oct. 19 open house
The United Church of Christ national setting has new digs. And national staff are ready to show the space off.
The UCC is inviting congregants, pastors and partners to a community open house Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. The new, state-of-the-art offices are located in the heart of downtown Cleveland at 1300 E. 9th St.
“We are very pleased to be in our new space, and we are anxious to communicate to our partners that they are welcome here,” said the Rev. John Dorhauer, UCC general minister and president. “We have spent decades cultivating partnerships with important community leaders who knew us in our previous space. We see this open house as a way of making them all feel at home, welcome in and comfortable with our new work environment.”
Staff moved into the space in early July. The former national offices were located at 700 Prospect Ave. That building has been sold to a local real estate developer.
Invitations to Conferences, local churches
About 400 invitations have been set to all the Conference offices, as well as to local churches within a three-hour drive of Cleveland.
Those interested in attending the open house are asked to RSVP by Sunday, Oct. 9. Parking information for nearby lots and garages is available at this link.
Visitors will be welcomed into the building at the first floor conference suite, and UCC staff will be offering guided tours of the 11th floor every half hour. COVID-19 vaccinations are not required, but masks are preferred for safety.
A video tour with Rev. Dorhauer will also be shared on UCC.org to accommodate all who would like to see the space but can’t attend the open house in Cleveland.
