Interfaith Day of Prayer – Prayer from Alex Garcia

To the God of Peace,

I pray for my children to be healthy and happy.

I pray for the freedom to watch them grow up,

To play with them,

To teach them to be respectful and kind,

To be sure they understand that everyone is equal and

That they are no better or worse than anyone else.

I pray to be able to live without fear,

And not under the gaze of people who are curious or feeling sorry for me.

I pray for the freedom to work to support my family,

To be a part of a community,

And to live as other families live.

I pray that I will not worry about my future.

Amen.
