Living Psalm 118-Easter B
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
This is the day the Divine has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
This is the day we remember death can’t happen without life—life!—
even if the tomb is front page news.
This is the day daffodils bloom,
their crusty bulbs buried and forgotten.
This is the day vaccinations spread arm to arm—
how we’ve missed those arms’ embraces!
This is the day we shout, “Alleluia!” and hunt for signs of new life:
eggs and bunnies and, ooh, chocolate!
This is the day we learn the endurance of steadfast love;
throw wide the gates of righteousness and enter!
This is the day.
Shout it out, people of God: “this is the day!”
This is the day we give thanks to the Divine, who has done all these marvelous things.
Let us rejoice and be glad—
Alleluia!
