Living Psalm 119:137-144 – Pentecost 21C
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Living Psalm 119:137-144 for the 21st Sunday after Pentecost C
You ARE justice, God, and your ways are right.
You have put your word on my heart, and justice and faith call to me.
It is because of you that I am grounded in this work for the long haul,
and I witness the burn-out of others…
So I rely on your Word, God, and I love it.
I can’t do this alone. I can’t do this without you.
I need to remember your hope for me.
Yet you see beyond the individual, into collective liberation.
Your hope for us all is the truth.
Honestly, YOU should know the cost
of showing up for justice and righteousness,
and so I lean on your hope.
Your Word is a vision of a world beyond this world;
and gives me life for the struggle.
