Living Psalm 126 – Lent 5C
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
I had a dream.
I had a dream I was dancing.
And my body’s usually awkward.
But this time I flowed
with the music
in rhythm.
Other bodies joined
all around me – different
steps but elation effervesced,
and we laughed, all of us hearing
the sound of Soul’s music
keening and calling.
I’d cried
for my being’s failure
to meet expectations put on me
in so many ways, but now
my dreams remember
Home is here.
