Living Psalm 148 – First Sunday in Christmas
Living Psalms Book
One: Praise God!
Many: Praise God from the skies above
One: Praise God from the highest place. Praise God in the atmosphere above, amongst galaxies and solar systems. Praise God for the unidentified objects flying high. Praise God among the satellites and spacecrafts sent to explore the unknown and praise God among the asteroids and comets that paint the night’s sky.
Many: Praise God amid the constellations and throughout the cosmos. Praise God for the mystery of every black hole and for the breakthrough of the “God particle”. Praise God through the entirety of God’s universe.
One: God is the creator, and we are God’s creation. Let us praise God for God’s matchless love!
Many: God created all and is in all and nothing can destroy that which God has established. Nothing can erode or dimmish the power and beauty of the Creator’s creation.
One: Praise God from the highest highs.
Many: Praise God to the deepest depths.
One: Praise God for the humpback whale and the shark, the dolphin and every finned creature that navigates the magic of earth’s lowest part.
Many: Praise God for the sun and sunshine and for the storm and rain.
One: Praise God for snowcapped mountains and the sweet bounty of the vineyard’s grape.
Many: Praise God for the mighty oak and praise God for the yield of the peach tree and the coffee bean.
One: Praise God for the dignity of the longhorn.
Many: Praise God for the elegance of the bald eagle.
One: Praise God for the creatures of land, sky, and sea.
Many: And praise God for the peoples of that inhabit the earth.
One: Praise God for those who lead the people.
Many: Praise God for those who faithfully follow their leadership.
One: Praise God for all the people.
Many: Praise God for all the races,
One: All the genders
Many: All the languages.
One: All the abilities, all the traditions, all the ways we love and make family and care for one another.
Many: Praise God, for there is none like God. None in all the earth nor in all the heavens above us.
One: Praise God for God’s faithfulness. For God’s love and provision never fails!
Many: Praise God!
