Living Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16 – Easter 5A
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
I am here, running into you-
again, God.
I know you will save me,
I don’t want to be cancelled.
I don’t want to be shamed.
Bring me into your JUSTICE-
and away from those who drip deceit from their teeth and tongue.
LISTEN TO ME NOW, GOD.
You’ve been my hiding place,
You’ve been my strength.
I see clearly that a trap awaits me-
to react,
to retaliate,
to take matters into my own hands,
to fall,
to stumble,
to hurt.
I feel like nowhere is safe.
HERE I am,
again, GOD
Jumping into your hands,
I rest in your hands,
every moment of my life is in your hands.
Save me from my enemies.
Shine on me, God,
Save me again, God,
In the Love that’s ever present.
