Living Psalm 80:1-7 – Advent 4A
Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Liberate us, God of our ancestors,
You who have called forth leaders and movement makers!
You who are high, high, high,
Sparkling with joy, offering mitochondrial connections.
Gather your people God, and come save us!
Call us back to our faith, our values, our care of community,
(how long will you turn your face from us?)
(how long will our faith, perverted into nationalism, offend you?)
Holy One, you have turned your people around, before,
You have called: Repent! Come back!
You have fed us hope and peace, joy and love,
You have seen us at the lowest places, the rock bottom,
And have stretched your love towards our growing.
Don’t give up on us, God…
Hold us in our humanity,
Invite us into life,
When we cry out to you, comfort us…
And call us again Home to you.
