Living Psalm Isaiah 12:2-6 – Advent 3C

Living Psalms Book

Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.

Isaiah 12:2-6 by Katherine Burgess

There have been times, Holy One,

when you have been angry with me

and I have deserved your anger

for I have not lived as you

wanted me to

But even so I will praise you

for your anger passed

and you smiled at me again

and told me that I was still

your beloved child

You filled me with joy

and I drank deeply from

the well of salvation

which you dug for me

in the desert

I tell my friends and companions

to thank the Lord

to share the Good News with the world

let us sing and shout together

to God’s glory

Let us remember all that

has been done for us

and let us all rejoice
