Living Psalm 106—Pentecost 19 A
God, called by many names, revealed to many, is good.
The love of God is present and enduring.
`The love of God given and manifested from generation to generation
among the people of God, made in God’s image.
We are created in your image, Great Mystery
All praise to God who is doing mighty works.
Have you seen all that God has done?
There are not enough words or time to recite the mighty doings of God.
Those who find their way to being change makers are happy.
They are happy as they observe justice
and extend righteousness to all people at all times.
Their happiness comes from seeking justice and relieving suffering.
We are created in your image, Holy One.
Remember me O God when you show your love to your people,
remember me and my people when you are delivering the oppressed.
We need deliverance, too.
We want to see the prosperity of all your people.
We want to rejoice that all are free,
rejoice that all have what they need,
ejoice with gladness as we stand in the beauty of our heritage and our culture.
We are created in your likeness, Creator.
Our Ancestors have been hated, scorned, wounded and bruised.
These Ancestors experienced hardship
because of the wickedness of others who sinned and committed iniquity,
making idols of their choosing.
The wicked worshipped at the altars
of capitalism, colonialism and imperialism making them their gods.
Ignoring your image made plain on the faces all people.
We are created in your likeness, Great Healer.
They forgot God who saved and provided for them.
Therefore, God will not support their prosperity.
God demands the freedom and rights of all creation.
Praise be to God whose wondrous works and awesome deeds
are evident from generation to generation.
